Default Glove Box Issue

The entire glove box came off all of sudden and it does not close all the way. The small light behind the box turns on after I start driving the car.

Please see the images of the pictures that I attached below and give me any suggestions that you can think of. I am hoping to fix the problem by myself.

It’s an easy fix. The spring load on your glove box got stuck. Use the small flat head screwdriver and gently pry it out. If the spring is broken, you can then replace the latch mechanism.

One more thing, try to close it without anything in the glove box, if your problem resolved then you have too much stuff in your glove box. It might cause by your owner manual is too large.

I think I see your problem…these two pins, highlighted in yellow below, are not installed correctly.
they need to be pushed in all the way then locked by turning them, 1/4 turn.
practice first with the door fully open, then move the door halfway closed and install them.

Dear GmanSC,

Thank you for your suggestion.

I had no idea what to do initially after the problem happened, however I finally figured out how to put it back in.

I appreciate your comment.

Hi, Daryl. The Youtube video you provided here helped me understand the issue. It also explained to me how to change the cabin filter. I'll check how my filter looks when I get a day off next time.
