Default Good Jacking Point?

A bit off topic for SC430, but ran into this on a clip showing in the "Lexus News" page. Video was demonstrating modular Ford Bronco, but what caught my eye was a moment when they were changing wheels. Would any of you lift an SC in this manner? I think our lower suspension arms would not fare that well. Also, how the heck do you keep a jack from slipping there? Is this a standard way for some vehicles?

I have never put the jack in that spot but that is exactly where I put the jack stand to support the car when I am rotating tires and doing brake jobs. I have done this on an ES, 3 RXs ,and the SC. Never had a problem. Seems to support the weight without any issue.

This in not a Lexus recommended jackpoint. It seems unsafe because of the angle and because it is a moving part. In addition, uneven loading on a control arm could result in alignment issues. Why not just use the Lexus recommended points instead? They are just as easy to use and don't pose any issues with safety or risk of damage.

A friend of mine died under a Jeep Cherokee after it fell off of its jackstands, so I'm extremely careful when working under vehicles, as should everyone!

It looked pretty scary to me, but wanted to know if people routinely use that as a jack or support location, especially since it was being shown in a professionally made demo video.

That's not the jack point I use.
