Default Disable Antenna

I replaced my stock radio with a Pioneer head unit. I am wondering if anyone has added a switch to power on/off the antenna manually. Apparently it stays up whether the the radio is on or off. This presents a problem at car washes. Ideally, I would like to tap into a power wire from someplace that I will not have to take the head unit out again. Any ideas?

You can disconnect it from the trunk but the antenna will not go up again. Do you want that?

No, I need it to work. Ideally I'd like to tap in to a power wire near the glove box so I can locate a switch inside the glove box. So I guess the question is really this; How do I locate a power wire to the antenna. Is there one near the fuse box perhaps? Again, I am trying to avoid removing the head unit.

There should be a power antenna wire off the Pioneer head unit wiring harness that you can tap into with an on/off flip switch

IIRC, the pinout of that connector is shown in the "Poor Mans Audio" thread.

Yes, the blue antenna remote wire is the one to use. It's at the back of the head unit but with practice, the head unit is easily removed in a matter of a few minutes. .
