i was curious to try to install the 32 bit OS on a W10 64 bit machine I have hanging around. I had never tried it and was curious to see if the OS would activate itself like it is supposed to do. I downloaded the ISO and burned to a DVD and installed on the 64 bit machine. Install went normally and what do you know, it activated itself just like it is supposed to do. So I now have a W10 32 bit machine. It is an old W7 machine that only had 4 gigs memory in it so I don't care about the memory limitation. I don't have my TechStream and cable anymore so I can't say if it will work properly. My bet is it will.

what did you do with Techstream and the cable?
did you stop using it on your SC430?

If you remember, I had TechStream loaded on a W7 32 bit machine for years and had no problem using it. The last time I used it was about 2 years ago to pair my 06 new TPMS to the ECU. No problem at all. When I went to use it again I could not get it to connect. I tried everything. Finally came to the conclusion that it was more than likely that the cable had failed. So I discarded it. I do not have one at this point to try the W10 32 bit or I would give it a go. I tried all kinds of combinations that people (including you) suggested to get it to work with the W7 32 bit without success. I then put W10 64 bit on the same machine and tried to get it to work with that. Again, without success. I just decided to let things ride until I actually needed TechStream and then get a new cable. At least this way I have a 32 bit machine ready to go.

When some folks install their Techstream and cable, they get a number of days in a small box to show how many days that the installation is good for. (Mine doesn't.) Maybe you had that it and the time ran out?

I have seen that, but my install did not have that countdown displayed. it could have been running in the background I guess. I was using version 10. I tried a reinstall with the exact software that came with the cable initially (that worked) and could not get it to work.

Get the software installed and running is different than connecting to the VIM. If you can get thru the first screen without demanded to enter the passcode, your installation is verified, however, if you can not connect to the vehicle automatically, you are having problem with the MVCI driver.

Have you actually connected your computer to the car and been able to access data from the ECU? Or, make chages?

Yes, it works great. On the SC430 I've programed 2 keys, 4 sensors for the TPMS, read live data, and reset codes. I've used it on three different Lexus models: 2002 SC430; 2005 GX470; and 2006 ES330. Hope this helps.

That is very interesting info. Can you tell us where you got the cable and software and what firmware version the cable is?
Thanks

The TechStream works on my HP laptop with Win10 too, but the registry was edited and files were swapped.

Here's the one I'm using from an Amazon reseller (January 2020):
Aidixun Mini-VCI J2534 Cable Firmware 1.4.1, Techstream Software V14.10.028
(newest version) with Original Key

Default VM worked for me

I finally got TIS to work for me using VM and this copy in an ova. Nothing to swap around. It worked with my cable I got off of ebay.

I’m not a fan virtual Window but if it works for you, that’ good. Just hope it won’t crash on you.
