Smile New lower price for timing kit

I'm about to get my '07 SC430 out of winter storage and just today received the timing belt/water pump kit I ordered from Amazon. They've lowered the price to $85.79 plus tax and shipping is free (if you're a Prime member). Now I'll be looking for a reliable mechanic to install it.

Did you get the kit with the tensioners? Not worth skimping on these. Yelp is a great resource to find local independent shops with good ratings.

Looks very nice! I don’t see a tensioner.
does this kit have a name and/or model number?

many of us selected the Aisin TKT021 kit.

Why would they even sell a kit without the tensioner? That's just craziness.

Lower price, attracting buyers. This kit is not Aisin. Read one comment, water pump seal blew almost cost him an engine.

Should it matter that the kit is also for a 4.7 liter and our SC's are 4.3?

Thanks to all who responded. The info was very much appreciated. Today I returned the kit I originally bought and ordered a different one- this one has a tensioner.

My 2008 SC with 55K has its original TB. According to the 10-year interval, I'm two years past due, but from past experience changing out Toyota TB's, I'm in no hurry. I'll tackle the job sometime in the future, but will likely source the parts from a Toyota or Lexus, on-line, discount parts dealer. Has anyone done this and, if so, can you share which dealer you used and what the parts cost? Does Toyota or Lexus sell a kit?

I don't mean to be belligerent, but most of that information is right here in this thread. Did you read it?
