2002. No modifications to engine or intake and exhaust systems. ALWAYS in ECT mode.
My mileage is consistently 21.2 MPG, average speed approximately 33 MPH according to the NAV System readout. My normal driving is approximately 50/50 Hwy and City. But my mileage readout doesn't really change even when I am on long trips of strickly Hwy which I find strange but do not quite understand how the mileage is calculated and then displayed on the NAV Screen readout.
I have "heard" about people getting as high as 26 MPG so I was curious. What kind of mileage do you get?
Well I have to make a correction. In the first post asking "What's Your MPG?", I was referencing the readout on the NAV Screen. That was wrong. What I was actually thinking was the readout on the Environmental Control Screen. Sorry for the confusion everyone. Thanks.

I get about 19.5 mixed, and 26 to 28 on long hwy trips. All Stock. I reset mine often, mostly weekly.
I hope this helps.
I just drive ours for fun when it's top down weather and don't ever cycle through the information buttons but 21.7 was showing on the display after a good long drive yesterday.

Well. Maybe my display always reads 21.2 because it needs to be "reset". How do you reset that display? I'm sure I could look it up and figure it out, but for our other owners who might not know either, can you explain? I have to admit that I just "assumed" that it automatically updated itself as you drove. That would make sense. I mean come on... It can't just do the calculations once and then have to be reset every time right? That would be sloppy engineering from Toyota which is not something that I attribute to them. Anyone have an idea as to how the calculations are accomplished? Thanks.

Thank you Sir. Went out to install one of my undercarriage plastic piecs from the salvage yard and selected "Average" using the "Trip Info" button for about a second and voila, "Average" and 0.0 MPG is now displayed. Works for "MPH" too. Learned something new today because I made an assumption that once again wasn't true. If I had a dollar every time I was guilty of that. Thanks.
OK. After resetting to zero, I went for a quick drive and my display is now updating every ten seconds. Pulled over to the side of the road and put her in "Park" and she was still updating. Turn the car off for about 30 seconds and started her up again and it is still updating. Maybe since I didn't understand how the MPG calculations were sampled, I had never reset it. In that time the battery has been disconnected for maintenance. Maybe thats what caused my gauge to not update. Hmmm. Thanks.
2004 - all stock. Actual MPG average for 35,000 miles over 7 years is 20.38. That's a calculated average using the actual miles driven and the number of gallons used. The car is not driver during the winter months and 93 octane premium gas is always used. I have gotten almost 26 MPG on a long trip. I'm quite satisfied with those numbers,
