Last month my Nav-Screen started to act up, no more tilt and no more closing of the door. As I just had the car at Lexus for the 2nd time around fixing the front airbag, i asked them to diagnose the unit. Motors are gone and their suggestion to fix was to get a replacement. Poor Service Adviser was shocked even more then I when the price rang over 7,500! I read about getting a used one and as I am not willing to change the motor, i would like to go that way. My car is a 2002, and I have seen replacements for that year and also for 2004, are these two years interchangeable or do I have to go with the 2002? They are the same price and I am just hoping the newer one would be a bit more reliable.
Should be fine. As the original was discontinued. But certainly isn’t a guarantee. Would depend on how much/often the unit you buy was used over time. (Notice production dates in graphic below)
I read what you wrote but this thread details the repair procedure... might try it out as a less expensive alternative with new motors as opposed to an unknown????? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...oor-motor.html
02-04 fit not problem. 05 and higher have a different connection. also if you swap it with a used one and the screen is not good, changing screens is really easy and takes less then one hour.
one careful when opening your climate control, manually open the navigation door and pry the climate control out from the top near navigation behind the leather piece or youll run the chance of breaking your climate control.
