Default coin box lid replacement

Has anyone replaced the lid on the coin box in the SC430? My new-to-me '06 Mercury Metallic has a black scuff on the lid of the coin box. The dealer has a OEM part for $11. Is it simple to remove/replace? Seems like a cheap fix to keep my new baby looking good. On a separate note, the only other cosmetic flaw is a slight fogging in the radio screen. At the dealership they said (without really looking at it) that it might be the LED fluid leak and can't be fixed. Anyone else have this problem? I don't have pics today but can post some detail tomorrow.

I think that these are what you are searching for (part number 55455-24040). (To answer you question, I have not removed it myself.)

from PM's I have learned that replacing the lid is more complicated than it looks. VVTiBob sent me a great idea for a workaround so I might just take the easy way out. Thanks for all the good advice, this forum is terrific!
