Has anyone used a product by BG called Frigi-clean to clean out your heater and ac duct system.

Actually I just received a can yesterday. Used it. Seemed to work fine, following the direction on the can. Had a pleasant smell to it. While I really didn’t have an odor problem, and my car is garaged in Southern California, it does smell better.

There is a product made by Toyota that is in a can that you spray into your condensate drain that you fill it up is a foaming product and then let it drain out by turning on the heat or ac full blast .It is used when a customer complains about an odor . I also open up the air filter in the glove box and sprayed in there as well

no, I have never us this BG product.
I just open the cabin air filter box and spray some Lysol into that area while the fan is running on high...i then rotate the airflow to the three different zones (floor, defrost and dash vents) and spray a little in each mode. all of the ducts receive a little Lysol which should kill any mold etc growing in the system.

I've noticed that the rotten egg odor only presented if I didn't use the AC. If I used the AC frequently, the odor seemed vanished. I also spray Lysol into the AC inlet with the fan on Hi.

To VVTiBob
Did you drill a hole like the directions said or did you go thru your vent. If you drilled a hole where?

I used the four vents (driver and passenger) not the lower cabin or defroster vents. I also sprayed the cabin filter.

On the Toyota product you can buy from lexus the instructions are to spay the contents into the condensate drain hose that you can get access to under the car near the firewall . The point is the spray is an expanding foam that fills up the container where the odor is coming from. The foam brakes down to a liquid that then drains out taking the odor causing contents with them. Then you can spray some of the foam directly into the inside of the glove box filter that will also drain out . Then run your ac on high to dry out the areas

THANKS to mrblister for his reference. He is referring to this:

and now that I’ve watched the video, I need to redo my first effort as it was completely ineffective.

AC Refresher Kit - Lexus Part # 00289-ACRKT. Some vendors will not ship due to hazardous chemical regulations.

Well I took out my glove box and drilled a hole in the heater (ac box) per the BG instructions. Walked thru the process and went well. So now we will see if it works. BG has a great reputation.

All good info in here! I watched the video and performed the second step by spraying Lysol into the cowl HVAC intake with the cabin air filter removed, recirculating off, fan in high and cycled through each of the three modes.

it smells nice and clean in the car!

Very interesting. (That was quite the disclaimer or warning at the start of the video! Apparently some lawyers got involved.)

I may have to do that sometime, though right now my car doesn't have a bad odor. On occasion it does for just a little bit at start up but goes away.

LoL, that is so true Harold!!! I didn’t have any bad odors in the Blue car but wanted to try spraying the Lysol in the cowl to see how it worked! I replaced the cabin air filter while I was in there!
