Default Gas Mileage Average?

Hi,

I know this will vary, I am curious what kind of Gas mileage you are getting on your earlier model Sc430, mine is an 03 with 16,600 miles as of today. I recently reset the ECU, and my mileage is coming in at 19.8 per the readout. I drive most highway, some back roads, 18 miles one way to work, then back home.
Use Shell V-power and rolling with non Run-flats for Tires.
I also am in the Sport Mode.

Wondering what you are all getting for MPG?

Maybe putting on new Michelin PS3+ may help? My current Tires currently do not need to be replaced and they have all been force balanced .

Thanks for any info...

Bob

My 02 has about 120k miles on it and the display typically indicates 20 mpg ± 0.4 mpg. (The display is usually about 1/2 to 1 mpg high though.) On strictly highway miles, I see in the vicinity of about 25 mpg, until some city driving comes into play and then it drops.

What Harold57 said sounds right except I have a number of hills in my area so 18 mpg + or - for mixed driving. I have gotten 26 mpg on long highway drives.

Our 2004 SC averaging about 19.5 mpg with a mix of mostly small town and some limited highway driving. My 2006 LS430 averages 21 mpg doing the exact same thing. On highway SC430 averages 24 mpg and the LS averages 26 mpg.

My 03 gets about 18 mpg on mostly highway driving. It seems like it goes to the gas station as often as my 05 Tundra double cab does. California gas is bad for mpg.

....my 2002 with 237,000....gets in the neighborhood of 19-23 with about 50/50 city & highway. At the moment, the readout is @ 21.7.......I did a trip to Houston in November, with an average speed of 80mph and it read 25.6. I don't know how accurate the system is, but I use it as a gauge, for my driving habits

My 2004 has 125,xxx miles on it. I have put 30,000 miles on it during the 5 years I have owned it. The overall actual gas mileage is 20.32 MPG, calculated via Excel spreadsheet with miles traveled and gallons used at each fill-up. I always use Premium 93 Octane gas from the current lowest priced brand.

2002 with 60K. all local small town driving. 18 mpg on the nose in power mode. after owning car 6 years this has never changed; rare highway trips will get up to 26 mpg. great vehicle.

Default 22.0 mpg average

I realize you're inquiring about pre-2006 models, but just for comparison, I documented every drop of fuel for 7,572 miles over a 21 month period on my 2006 SC430. I averaged 22.0 mpg. Mostly local cruising, no road trips or commuting to speak of.

I'm getting 24-25 on highway. 18-20 around town. I am pretty agressive but am happy with the mileage. I went with larger tires - 255/40 s. There are 137000 on the car.
