Still carry comprehensive insurance
As yur LS ages and racks up miles, mine 170k miles, and depreciates do you still carry comprehensive? Liability is 118$ every 6 months with a DUI 2 1/2 years ago.

Wrong forum. This is SC not LS. But to answer your question--since I have an LS too---yes, you want to carry comprehensive. Because the car will be expensive to fix, no matter the age and you are likely to get another 70k miles out of that thing with proper maintenance.

I recently dropped collision on both the LS430 and the SC430. The yearly cost for collision made it a bad bet given the likely low recovery amount and very low chance of making a claim. These cars are expensive to repair after an accident and given the depreciation and market value at this point the insurance company would be very quick to just total the car and send me a low ball check to cover it. Just too little payback after the $1k deductible to be worth the yearly collision premium especially since my wife and I have never made a collision claim in 40+ years of driving. I'd rather self insure at this point. We did keep comprehensive in place as the possible payback, chances of a claim, and premium cost on that looked like a better deal.

carrying a high amount of liability is always a good thing relative to how much you might actually be worth.
i don’t carry any extras like towing or medical payments.

Check your collision premiums. I pay less than $300 a year (with a $250 deductible) for my 2003 SC430. Cheap price to pay if it's damaged in a collision or if a total loss. Current dealer value per Edmunds.com for my car is over $13,000. I don't have that much money sitting around so I'll keep paying the collision premium.
Also carry comprehensive...never know when one would hit a deer (we have a LOT of them around here), or be in a flood...like in Texas or Florida.
