Got some good sounds here but you are all missing something:
"V8"
Them tires, btw, were too big (255/40/19 front and back) and too cheap (came with car) so replaced with
255/35ZR19 Rear Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus, and 245/35 Front.
What do too big tires look like on an SC? Like an off-road vehicle:
Read this thread yesterday, and then a couple other on the subject and did my resonator delete today. So far I am very happy with it. My findings:- While ideling warmed up ( revs below 1000) there is no difference in sound
- 1000-2000rpm just as you put your foot down you hear a nice low rumble that reminds you there is a V8 there. Not too much but it is definitly there
- 2000 and above as you rev the sound is definitly more aggressive and a 10-15% louder
and here is a picture of my resonators cut out.

Thank you for that. These are out of the third cat then back to the muffler, right?
If you separate the two and run them thru a pair glass packs and convert the intake to a set of 8 Stromburg 97s you might be able to get a sound like a "Flat Head" Ford which was the best sound ever made by an engine, any engine, ever. Mainly because, the firing order is identical to the "Flat Head" Most other modern V8s have abandoned that firing order. I think the 430 is the only one that still retains it.
The reason for converting to Stromburg 97s is not just to waste fuel, but part of that "Flat Head" sound came from the fact that the carbs pumped a lot of extra fuel into the engine that made that rumble when you "got off of it". A modern FI system doesnt waste fuel like that.
The sound of a "Flat Head" backing off is music to my ears.
Solid metal too, you can't bend it with your hands. Proper placement is key, it took me about an hour to figure it out using
a modified Fibonacci series and also considering the V12 biturbo sticker placement on the side of a CL65.
That vintage style V8 is authentically vintage, maybe best on a silver SC, I'd
do a black on a black SC. Don't need to shout when you're packin' a V8.
That vintage V8 logo originally came from the front radiator of a '49
Flathead Ford. Bonnie and Clyde had one and you can see it in the
vintage photos. Here's Bonnie smokin' a cig, doesn't she know that's
bad for her health?
