2002 SC 430 loose good latch problem
Hi guys hope you're all well I wanted to reach out to anybody who's had problems with a loose closed hood.
The hood falls and closes straight down however there is a little bit of play when it was locked there's anybody have a quick fix for this ?
The impact is when I drive occasionally I'll get some small squeaking from the hood and it's kind of annoying as you can imagine . Thank you very much for reading this far if anybody has any ideas at all on how to direct me to a resolution that will be much much appreciated

There should be a small amount of adjustment in the latch or the fastener. There should be enough to adjust you should be able to use shims to raise or lower either fastener if necc.

Thanks but I can't see where the shims or adjustments can be done? Here's a pic! Thoughts?
Hood latch on frame of car . Where can adjustments be made?
Photo of latch on the inside of the hood. Where can play be adjusted ?

Here are a couple of people who explain how they adjusted their hood latches. The second one is a very novel idea, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it

Does your hood fit perfectly in it's space but it is just "rattley", or does the front of your hood stand a little low or a little high?
If so, you can adjust the rubber stoppers under your hood. They are usually at the front corners and they screw up or down. For an official explanation, look at step D above

There's no way in the world I would want the first guy working on my car. All the fiddling around just to adjust the hood was ridiculous. First try the adjusting stops, providing the hood is level to the guards. If still loose, draw a line across the top of the adjuster prior to loosening the bolts. Therefore you have something to go by instead of guesswork. The second video, I don't know what he was on about.
