Can anyone tell me what this hose is suppose to be connected to? Anyone have a picture of their engine bay right there? Thanks in advance!

Evaporative emissions hose. You don't have a check engine light on? Looks like the nipple is broke off in the hose. That black box to the left is where it attaches. The hose that comes out of that box goes into the evap. Purge solenoid. They hose out of that goes to intake. I don't have a good picture, but you can see the hose going into that box.

Yes well that would be why you have a evap leak code. You could either find one of those boxes, or might be able to make a repair. Your not going to get a good enough seal probably if you just try to glue it. You could find a brass fitting with threads on one side, and a barbed fitting on the other. Drill and tap the plastic box ( with it off the car so you don't suck in any shavings). Use some silicone on the threads , and put the hose back on.

two things...
i noticed the other hose is split...you should replace it, mine did the same thing.

and second, you should consider picking up some engine degreaser at Walmart and clean your engine, she is a dirty little piggy! ;-) LoL

Bgw , nice catch on that other hose being split. I know I shuttered when I saw how dirty it was. You know how I keep mine.

I think it was $18 to buy a new valve from Lexus. You can take the old one off and look for the part number on it,.

This is a VERY common problem with the SC430.

Once your car reaches this point, it means the rest of your hoses are very dry and brittle and you should replace all of the ones in that area. I think it is 5/16 inch hose. You can buy it for like 75 cents a foot at Oreilley's

If you buy the hoses from Lexus, they have a nice foam covering. They are probably better, but more expensive.

Zoomed picture

This is the part, part number, and price. The part you need is not the purge valve. Do a search on the part number, and you will see it is the box with the broken nipple .
