Default Front Suspension Issue

When driving slowly and make a slight turn, left or right, I started to hear popping noises from the front. Could that have something to do with the control arms? There are no noises when going straight.

I have had the bushings replaced with Daizen a few years ago, but added not too many miles since maybe 10-15k. I also have Tein coilovers installed, car a little lowered. Car is 2002 with about 95k miles on it, i own the car since day one. A little nervous to drive the car now.

Thanks

Can you explain the noise in even more detail? Is it hitting the fender liners, now that the suspension may have settled a little lower over time?

That was my first thought also.

Thanks Coleroad. I actually have the comparison when I make a sharp turn ( having the steering wheel turned till the stop) the noise from the liner appears as a grinding noise. That was a trade-off I was fine with. But I will check if anything got loose.

Check your lower ball joints. They can groan, squeak and pop depending on how they're failing.

+1, ball joints typically start failing after 75k miles. They need to be checked anyway at that mileage. If they are already making noise they can present safety hazard, as the car can collapse while you are driving.

Finally got to go to service, actually my local Lexus dealer. They found the issue. I have coil-over for several years and the top hat on the right has gotten loose! They had the car on the lift and the wheel was moving instead of being tightly connected. The re-torqued and everything seems to fine. Lexus also examined the remaining front suspension and all is still tight and in good order.

Dodged a bullet.
