Another New one and looking
Thanks for all the help - yes I have been perusing. Believe me, I know how these forums work, having been a member of 2 Yamaha Jet boat forums for years and a heavy contributor to the new members learning curves. In fact, I bought both my Yamahas off the forum. Anyway, having owned an S class and a 5 series and hated the upkeep cost, I decided to go looking for an SC 430. I have heard a Lexus is a Toyota on steroids, as an Acura is a Honda on steroids. I own 2 Hondas. and they keep on going. I figure the same for the SC430. I want this as an extra car, to use to get to the beach house in the summer, and tool around with. I read the sticky thread above. First question is what is up with these no flat tires? Sound like a real PITA and rough ride, and hard to replace if one goes. Question - can you simply put a good set of "normal" ties on the rims that c0me with an SC430? Thanks. By the way, if anyone is selling one on the site, which has a documented history such as we find with boats for sale on our boat forum, please post a link. I will ship anywhere for the right car. I am located in MD. Thanks in advance for the help. . .

....welcome to the forum.....and to answer the first question.....yes you can put "normal" tires on the original rims & you will have no problems, but will add a significantly better ride. After that, you'll just need to address getting an emergency spare, just in case of a flat. I would check the classified section on the CL forum, along with Autotraders,Carguru,Craigslist, etc....you may find one well documented or one that peaks your interest....good luck in your search

I have run no spare in my 98 accord for 195k miles. Obviously taking a chance..
oem spare setup is 1k and takes up rare space in the sc.
i also own a solara. 150k miles.
less repairs than the Honda.
The local Lexus dealers service writer old buddy mentioned a normal stores service runs 70% warranty then repairs.
his store runs 95% maintenance stuff.
Lots of 200-400k miles Lexus cars reported with zero issues.
Made in Japan no budget restrictions car. Like a fine watch.

Found what appears to be a beautiful, dealer maintained 2005 with 98000 miles on it. $15,900 and I'd offer then 14.......seems like it might be a good deal. The carfax report shows it mostly maintained at a dealership. Should the 98000 miles scare me away? Thanks!

For 98,000 miles, it's will be OK. I sold a LS400 with 343K on the odo with original engine and trans.

Does the dealer maintenance record say timing belt/water pump replaced ? Time norms suggest those are required around 2014/15 for a 2005 car while the miles suggest if not done, then its coming right up. Around $1000 done well at a good indy shop, around $1700 at Lexus dealer price..
