Hi fellow SC owners; I have a question to help another owner. My friend is a 70 year lady who babies her low mileage one owner 02, and, she is moving from Charlotte, NC to Los Angeles this September. She has asked if I could help her find a good shipping company for her cross country move.
I know this is a subjective topic, but, she is as particular about her car as any of us are about ours; so, I'd be very grateful for any shipping company recommendations. Most likely, she will prefer an enclosed carrier.
The first time I opted to use an open transport. The second time I chose to use a closed trailer. When the car came off the open trailer it was just so dirty. That's not their fault. There wasn't any damages. It just made for extra cleaning time.

Thanks for comparing in vs. outside; I think the enclosed would be worth the extra costs; it does sound like you had great experiences with them.
Ha and LOL about Houston; I felt the same way! The Woodlands was and is a beautiful area though; and I even used to enjoy Galveston when I was younger. I always hated even a day trip to Houston for business due to the traffic, weather, etc. I swear the 'skeeters' there in the Houston area belong in a Jurassic Park movie. Give me Lake Travis area near Austin any day!
This is an industry that needs regulation! Don't go with the cheap quote, I just shipped a car (open) from Louisiana to las Vegas..$1100.00. Little on the spendy side but I was in a hurry... Expect to pay .50 to $.60 per mile. Even the top rated carriers are giving a discount for a positive rating. watch out
