Default cabin filter removal question

I am trying to remove the cabin filter and don't want to break the fasteners in the glove box
I know it says to remove the two clips on each of the glove box side
my question is which way do I turn the clips up or down to remove them or does it matter
Thanks Jimbo

If I remember they turn down rotating towards you ... Left turn counter clockwise and right one would be clockwise. Then in that position you pull them out towards the inside of the glove compartment. Then the entire doors will go down and expose the cover for the filter in the back.
