Unhappy Finding the right tach rpm wire. Not over 5v

Okay, i need some help. Have been searching alot but only to find the same answer that doesn't help me.

The rpm/tach wire should be the black/yellow wire behind the obd2 connector. But it reads 12v when the key is turned to "on" position and about 6.78 when the engine is running.

I am installing a exhaust valve system where i can program the valve in the exhaust to open at a certain rpm. so the box needs this signal. But it should be between 0 and 5 volt max or it will damage the internal components in the exhaust box and will not be covered by warranty.

Here is the links to some of the pages i have found. http://www.justanswer.com/lexus/7a7u...iter-coil.html

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...asp?tid=131859

Some places it says a yellow with a black tracer wire. But when you look at the wire its a black with yellow tracer wire right? Mine looks like this in the picture:

Interesting thread. I read the info in your links. Did you have any luck figuring this out?

Hi bgw70

Yeah i found out that the right wire is the Yellow with black stripe. Its located in the engine bay on the right side of the intake. Here is the picture :-) It goes from 0-4volt.

I will update my build thread soon. Just got so much work to do.
