Fuel overfill check valve?

It is safe to assume that all parts of any uni-body design is "carrying load." However, my guess is that you'll be fine. The engineers should have included a reinforced access hole and cover plate for accessing the top of the tank, like I've seen in other uni-body designs.

If I ever experience this cracked purge valve, I'll slog through the "dropping the tank" procedure myself, rather than use this short cut, as I wouldn't want to deal with any potential side effects of a compromised structure. But then, I'm a perfectionist (and drive myself crazy doing things by the book)!

LOL. This is not directed at Wilson. He gets it. But cutting the body. Really. The SC 430 is NOT A COUP. The body shell does not have the same rigidity as a cage. Holy Crap. Anyone else think this might be a bad idea for his car? Just take the opportunity to do the maintenance. Pop in a new Fuel Pump while your at it. Dont cut your car unless you are a professional who understands all the variables here. Another just my opinion moment.
