Default Rear window mod.

So I've read on the whole rear window mod, not planing on doing it but I came across a sequence that allows the rear glasses to come up when the top is down.

-After the top is down
-Turn your car off
-Turn the ignition switch on.
-Turn the trunk lid opener main switch (in the glove box) from the operative position to the inoperative position (in the canceled position)
-Push the "OPEN/CLOSE" switch on the "OPEN" side twice slowly, within 10 seconds after Step 2.
-Hold down the same switch on the "CLOSE" side once within 10 seconds after Step 3. The quarter windows will close.

This is a one time thing, once the roof is back up the windows will function like before.

I can't take credit for this, I found this out while trying to figure out if I had to take the rear windows out to tint it properly.

With the quarter glass up it actually helps with the wind buffeting. I don't know why they wouldn't allow the user to close those Windows. Seems like a silly design flaw.

I have a neighbor with a Toyota Solera convertible and his rear window is always sync'ed with the front. He can't control them separatoey but with the top down he can raise all windows together. Still seems like a dumb design to not have indepedent control though.

Completely agree slv.. it should've just been integrated with the front windows.. oh well.. I'm just glad there was a hack sequence to raise the windows up when tinting. My installer spent a lot of time on the rears and did the windows twice before I found the hack to roll the windows up. I would've had to take the rear apart and take the glass out to do it right otherwise.

You can also get the quarter windows down with the roof up.
When opening the roof, just as the quarter windows get to the bottom of it's travel press the close side of the switch and they will stay down, but the damn buzzer comes on when you drive.
If you want to try it, it may take a couple of goes until you find the 'sweet' spot when it works, but when you have done it a few times it' easy, but only for when you are parked up.

If you turn the audio up enough will it cover the warning chime noise? Or does it come through the audio system like the GPS voice (ie. mute the front speakers)? Just wondering...
