Please help---struts for 2002 sc430

I have had my struts replaced at local gas station. Unfortunately, there is now an occasional hard steel on steel knock in the front. Very weird indeed.

Is there something they may have missed when they installed them?

They also charged me 800 bucks for just the fronts.

Any help greatly appreciated

Sounds like the local gas station didn't adjust the spring pre-load when they swapped the springs into the struts. My guess is there is space between the spring and the strut top bumper. JMO.
