Default Transmission, How do I get a harder quicker shift ?

The lexus sc430 is nice but when I floor it , there is a 2-3 second delay until she kicks down and really takes off. Someone said there is actually an adjustment on the transmission to eliminate this delay ??? ever heard of such a thing and if so, would the dealer do that for a customer or would they send you away. anybody know anything about this ??? Thanks.

Yes, research transmission valve mod for sc430 and you'll find several threads on changing the setting of the transmission by turning a dial which should get rid of that lag and make the shifts quicker

Yes there is a relatively easy valve mod to make shifts a bit nicer. I have several posts about this along with Bacardi11. Check out our posts and PM if you have questions. If you feel comfortable dropping the transmission pan, there is a dial that can be turned to improve shifts. Not a dramatic difference but noticeable nonetheless. Is also recommend changing the fluid and replacing the filter while you are at it. I also mixed two bottles of lucas transmission fix. Opinions vary on additives, but at least in my case the Lucas really improves the shift feel. I have used it in three or four cars, and in every case shifts are quicker and smoother..
