Default Lexus LS430 vs SC430

I had the LS430 for about 8 years now and just recently purchased the SC430. I usually don't slam on the gas on the LS. I just go fast on top end. I haven't drove the LS for about a couple months. While I was driving it I just thought how much faster is the SC. So I floored it and call me crazy but I think the LS is quicker than the SC. They both have the same motors but the LS just feels quick all around.

I still think the same of my 03 GS430 vs my 02 SC430. The GS always seemed more responsive on throttle response (little to no lag). I'm looking forward to doing the transmission mod and see how the SC responds to that.

install the Sprintboost you'll see the lag gone. you'll see and feel the differance

Reduces mpg but you can sleays turn it off. It's the best thing you can do for our car and transforms this machine into an animal

my mpg did not change. lex has a stall speed convertor

Yeah I have a high stall torque converter which reduces mpg. I can't feel a difference, it costed a fortune, waste

I picked up an LS460....not a 430 but I'll see how it compares after SEMA. I do know the SC seems "heavier" than my 2006 GS300 which seems quick....but not fast.

What is 'high stall torque converter'? what did cost a fortune, waste?

My SC430 is below 15 mpg (80% city driving) what can I do to bring up to 20+ mpg? (I am never in a hurry )

Not only does the SC feel slower but it also gets less mileage as well.

the stall speed in the 430sc is about 1800 or less
lex high speed stall is some were between 2400-2800
years ago in my racing days my stall speed was 3800
this means I can step on gas holing the brake and the car would able to rev. to 3800 before stall you have more power at the rear wheels before moving. HP

I thought that there was a debate on this and lots of people said it was a waste of money. This is why I did not purchase it. Does it work really well?

Occasionally, when I need a boost , lower the gear manually and the car is more responsive then go back to 'D'
