You are right Solomon, there are more stupid people in America than smart ones. I will wait for a 2010 and not pay more than 39k.

I paid $41K for my 2009 PB last Fall, which was pretty crazy, I know. The car only had 9K miles, though, and still smelled new, so I couldn't resist! Seemed like a fair price from a dealer at the time, but certainly wasn't a "steal."

I actually found a car just like yours last nov. I worked out a deal for $35k. It was 3 hours away from my home. Without a deposit, they sold it before I could check it out. It had 27k miles on it, like my 2010. I must say that I'm glad it didn't work out!

Just picked up the patch from Beatsonic to be able to work the DVD and NAV while on the road. This ONLY works with the 2010 SC and all other Lexus models from 2010 and newer. Sorry if I misled anyone with the SC from years 02-09.

On the other hand, what a wonderful day. We picked up the patch, went out to lunch, and did a little Costco shopping, all with top-down in the 82 degree sunshine. I did pay my dues though, living in Chicago the first 33 years of my life. I didn't consider a convertible back in those days, but that was before hardtop convertibles! What a great life!

I'm just curious why you say you're glad it didn't work out? Is it because you're so pleased with the deal you got on your 2010? I know there were a few very nice final tweaks on the 2010 which I'd like to have on my 2009 (Nav, Blue-Tooth, Puddle Lights, etc.)... I'm spectacularly happy with my 2009 PB so far.

I am a bit bummed right now, though, because a unique set of circumstances required me to drive it after a 2 inch snow here in Omaha this past week... It did fine in the snow, but I had really never intended to let it get assaulted by the salt they use on the roads around here. Need to get the undercarriage washed off good before any of that salt can do it's nefarious work. My SC will be a classic garage queen ordinarily!

Those are the reasons why. I changed out my head unit to get those items and they don't compare to oem. Particularly the washed out screen for nav/radio. For $4k more, it was worth the wait.

I had seriously considered the 2010 and would have paid a great deal more for it had they included keyless go. Not having that was a deal breaker for getting the updated 2010. In the end, I bought a 2007 with 11K miles on it for $31K. It still smelled new too.

If by keyless go you're referring to push button start, you would have to go with the ISC. On the other hand, while I too love the push button start my other two cars have, I like luxlink better. The fact that I can start the SC and put the top and windows down before I even get to Her, supersedes push button start. As a matter of fact, the remote is part of the magic. Not to mention, that with luxlink you will never Again hold the button while the top does its thing. Double tap the button and your part is done. I am still jazzed that luxlink still works on the 2010 model!

Hi Solman,

I just bought a 2010 SC Matador Red Mica with 30,000 miles on it from a Lexus Dealer. I am shipping it enclosed trailer, Inter-City Lines, excellent high end carrier, I should recieve it in a week. Saddle interior with Birds Eye Maple, Gorgeous and collectible as this is the last year and production numbers were very low. Lexus Certified Pre-Owned with a 3 year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Mint condition. Let the summer begin! Thanks for all of your tips everyone!

The nav is HDD and the CD changer Is now DVD/CD changer, it has Bluetooth audio (Internet radio), iPod connector,XM radio, and USB outlet.

I'm going from my 02 SC to the 2010 and while I upgraded the head unit to the Bluetooth pioneer in my 02, I'm looking forward to not having a washed out screen with the top down.

I don't have a lot of plans with mods other than luxlink, moving my Lexus spare tire kit from the 02 to the 10, and replacing the runflats. Oh, the excitement!!!

Sounds great. Hopefully, you won't encounter the massive problems I had. Now that it's been 16 months for my 2010 I am very happy, even given the circumstances of my purchase. As a previous owner of a 2002 white gold SC and my current 2010, I can tell you I'm very happy I made the move. The 2010 is more stable and the electronics and other changes that were made only on the 2010 are worth it. And you now have joined a small club-there are only 329 of us who own this car. I assume all 329 are still around, not knowing any better. Congrats on a great buy.

Hi John,

What kind of tires are you running? I want the quietest, smoothest, all weather tire possible. I do not need to go 100 mph around corners or go 0-60 in 5 seconds. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom

Michelin Pilot A/S. I got the best price and my local Lexus dealer matched it. Running them for a year and have been happy with. I hear good things about the continentals too though.

Jealous of you 2010'ers! It;s beautiful!

I was tempted -for a second, to look at trading my 08 PB for an 09, but decided against it!
