Default wheel fitment - need help

Can someone help me out and let me know if the below set up will fit my sc430?

front: 19x9.5 +35mm with 275/40/19
rear: 19x9.5 +35mm with 285/40/19

according to the wheel chart (rominl wheel chart) it seems like the set up is leaning toward the conservative side but i think the tires will pose some issues. Is the front too wide? maybe narrower tire? i think the back is good? Car will be lowered with megan ez street coilovers. how low can i go with the set up?

just got the car and trying to fix it up the proper way.

Thanks.

Those fronts are way too big.

The wheel chart is IMO not that accurate or does not work for people with lowered cars.

Wheels for this car are very confusing.

I'm going to be ordering the following tires soon for mine:

245/35/19 and 285/30/19

Almost exact OEM ratios.

I want to lower atleast 2" so I'm going to go 8.5F/9.5R.

Seems like most wheels are too conservative or too aggressive offset wise (why???).

So I'll probably get stuck with +35/+40 and buy hubcentric spacers for the rear.

yeah those tires are way to wide almost 1.5 inch wider then your wheel... i replied to loveslexus other thread, that may be a help to you.. personally i find that tires wider then the wheels make the ride more comfy but make it harder to steer and also direct the wheels.. the reason the steering is harder to turn is because wider tires stick out and when turning you push against the edge sticking out... I prefer slightly stretched look because its very easy on the steering and the steering rack.. wider tires are also more noisy and usually recommended for snow since they give more traction...

hope that helps

thanks for your inputs. I guess i just have to look for something else. Do they make LM-R reps that fit the Sc430 without using spacer or roll fenders?

I concluded on a set of 19x8.5+35 front and 19x9.5+35 rear. Follow same tires that loveslexus tires sizing choice, would it rub or i should be ok with 2" drop on my coilovers? i really don't want to roll any fenders.

Default 19" Wheels

Strikercyb,

I'm kinda in the same boat as you with pretty much the same question. I plan to get a set of staggered 19" wheels, 19" x 8.5", +38 mm, 1.5" lip and 19" x 9.5", +35 mm, 2.5" lip with 245/40-19 front and 275/35-19 rear tires.

While I don't immediately have any plans to alter my suspension, there may come a time where I want to lower my SC 1-2 inches. I'm pretty sure we'll be OK, but like you, I'd like the opinion of someone with more knowledge on the subject.

Here's a really handy tool I found for comparing tire/wheel combos:

Handy Tool to Compare Tire/Wheel Combos

Here's the wheel I'm considering. Inovit Haste in Hyper Silver with Polished Lip.

distance from hub to fender line judging from the specs of my wheels is approx:

Front: 87mm (3.42") approx
Rear: 104mm (4.1") approx

Front:
19x9.5 +35 Offset - which are 85.65mm (3.37") from the hub, meaning they should match the fender line

Rear:
as for the rear the wheels will again be 85.65 from the hub, meaning they will sit 18.35mm (0.72") inside the fender..

as for tires 245's are perfect for 9.5inch wheels, but 285 is quite wide.. either shouldnt be an issue when lowering but 275's on rear would be safer choice.*** and a personal recommendation would be to get a staggered set of wheels rather then playing with tire size for a wider look..

Loveslexus, do you mean the wall sucks because its too thin (30)? because the 285 you mentioned up there also has a 30 width.. maybe i misunderstood, let me know

Thanks

bimmer416,

What lovelexus is referring to is the height of the sidewall and how a 275/30 doesn't provide much in the way of rim protection or ride quality. You see, the sidewall of a 275/30 (275 mm x 0.3) is 82.5 mm tall, whereas the sidewall of a 285/30 (285 mm x 0.3) is 85.5 mm tall. That is why I plan to go with a 275/35 so the sidewall will be 96.25 mm tall and provide a much smoother ride with more "meat" between the road and the rim. Ultimately, this will represent a difference of 3.4% from stock, meaning that when my speedometer reads 60 mph, I'll actually be traveling 62 mph.
