I just had four Michelin 255-35-18 Pilot Super Sport installed on stock 8" SC430 wheels. I since have learned wheel width for this tire is 8.5" min. My question is, will there be any adverse effects in handling life, etc.? Has anyone done something similar? They installed fine and look ok, although the sidewall is wider at the thread than at the wheel. Thanks.

 

the OEM is 245-40-18, with 255-35-18, the overall diameter will be smaller by 2/3 inch.

 

Yes, thank you. I am more concerned that with this specific tire, min. wheel width is listed at 8.5", and if there are any consequenses mounting to an 8" wheel.

 

255 willbe fine for 8"
