Thanks for all the comments and feedback. You/I could do any color that is available in any EL (electroluminescent) wire color (check Ebay for all the colors). I tested with these two colors specifically bc currently my calipers are red and the red EL wire, looked more pink. Orange was a good match for the moment until I switch my calipers color to a powedercoated reflective teal blue color. My future plan for my SC430 is the blue/white Tron Legacy Light Runner theme. But I finalized the emblem by closing the outer edge that was allowing light to pass with black silicone. End result looks great and I can easily change colors in the future for the Tron Legacy Upgrade
Now I just have to run a 12v wire off my preexisting fog light connection (which is already present bc of my DIY turn signal door handles and DIY puddle lights in the mirrors).

So here's the finished badge I like it. Subtle and classy. Car is dirty. We're getting snow here in Chicago.

I put an "add-a-fuse" to the IGNIT fuse in the fusebox under the hood on driver's side. I thought about doing it to headlight or fog light, but I wanted to have the ability to illuminate in complete darkness. Really gives it that "monster in the dark" look.

I think the white outline of the "L" might look kinda cool on the clear wind deflector. Especially at night.

Def not great in the snow, but it is my daily so I have no other choice. I'm using all season tires, and when I moved up to Chicago I was using the OEM runflats. Totally awful. I had to ditch the car twice after accum of like 5 inches. Then I scored some free Blizzak Runflats which totally changed the drive. I was gripping like crazy. Bad side, some shotty tire shop that installed them wrecked my TRD chrome rims. Now I have a dedicated set of winter rims and summer rims, both running All Season tires. I did ok this year with the snow. No spin outs, no accidents. I do put on the SNOW mode and it keeps me in good control but it all comes down to tire condition (and salting), I feel. Anyway, hopefully snow season is over for Illinois/Indiana. Fingers crossed.

Hi Shawn,

I know this is an old thread but man, that looks amazing and I wanna try it. when removing the emblem did you feel there was a risk of breaking it? Also what kinda glue did you use for the permanent job?

TIA

I am actually willing to sell my first two attempts. One is red/orange. One us Blue. I can post photos soon. I went with a bright white LED emblem.
