So the other day I was showing-casing my 2002 SC430 to some friends, when one of them asked to open the hood to take a look at the engine. I opened the hood, and then when I went to close it the hood wouldn't latch closed (the "upper" latch held, but not the lower one).

Needless to say, this was a little embarrassing...

 

So is it ok now? What went wrong?

 

How did you solve this? My hood latch is not closing - have my SC430 in storage right now - thought it was a power latch that does not close with no power?
