Front parking light and side markers

Default Front parking light and side markers

Driver and passenger sides of the front parking lights and side markers are out so I purchased the bulbs from Advance Auto part # 168LL and install the driver's side marker but the light does not come on. Do I have to install the passenger side as well to have these lights come on? I also noticed that aftermarket light bulbs are rated 14V, 4.9W instead of 12V, 5W OEM, does this matter?

Can you test the bulb you have by using a jump from your battery to see if it lights up? If it does, then it is the bulb assembly itself that is not working right.

I take it that you have a pair of bulbs and you want to just replace the other side as well? Go ahead and replace the other side, however it is not related. Loose wiring?

Do you know how to use a multi-meter? To check if you are getting current going to your light assembly?

Both the front side markers and parking lights are out, so I need to replace total of 4 bulbs. I will try the multi meter to see if currents are present in the wires. I also have to replace fog light on driver side so maybe I will just let the dealer replce all 5 bulbs when I take in for timing belt service.

I first joined in 2005 when my wife bought her 1999 RX300 and I have been using this site for RX300 related DIYs. That forum has great DIYs and RX300 is much easier to fix compared to SC430.

The 14 volt bulbs will work with a 12 volt system. They'll just be a little underpowered. So the lumen output will be slightly less than a 12 volt bulb.

Tonight, the front parking lights and front side markers are all working,when I only replaced drivers side markers. But when I turn the switch from auto to parking light back to auto, all front parking lights and side markers do not turn on. I then turned all the lights off and then switch back to auto, all front lights work. Any ideas why this is happening?

Loose wiring. Have to check all them out.
