Default Headlamp Sun/UV Protection

As many of you know a portion of our headlight covers lay almost horizontal and over time the sun will color the clear plastic/glass shell making it dull looking. I'm very aware of how to clean the headlamps with several products on the market that will make them clear again, but does anyone know of headlamp wax or protective coating that can be applied to eliminate this from happening in such a short period time?

Thanks in advance for any replies or answers.

PS Just after posting I did find a product that Meguiar's sells, called Headlight Protectant, with mixed reviews.

The few bad reviews I read indicated that they were disappointed that it didn't clear up the haze. This is a protectant, not a product used to clear the haze. So I wouldn't let that deter you.

4 years ago my lights were hazed over and I I got them clear again. I then had an invisible bra installed and they also went over the headlights. They are just as clear today as they were 4 years ago. Has anyone else had the same experience? Btw, you cannot tell they have the bra over them.

That product is also just a sealer, not a restorer. To get rid of yellowed & hazed headlights, you'll need to go to the effort of restoring first. From some of the reviews, restoring is not all that difficult though and doesn't take all that long. So restore them first and then seal them.

The product on Amazon is a sealer only, correct. I've restored them once with Mothers Power Ball Headlight Restoration kit and it took about two minutes per headlight using a cordless drill, VERY easy to do. What I'm trying to get away from is restoring them every few months, so I think I will try Mequiar's Headlight Protectant and find out if extends the time in between restorations.
