Seems like other people have had some issues with the companies associated with lexussignals.com. Probably best to do some research before buying.

Anyone ever try sticking the 09 ones on theirs? 09 SC430 comes with light turn signals on the mirrors but not power folding ones.

The JDM and European market SC430s had power folding mirrors from the beginning. I'm sure an install of these parts (including new switch) can be done.

So I thought I would revive this thread from deep within the temple of knowledge which is ClubLexus. As many of you know, I've already adapted my 2002 Side Mirrors with DIY LED puddle lights, and my door handles with white LED parking/amber LED turn signals. The idea of powered folding mirrors still cries out to me. I would like to see if any of the Masters in this forum can hypothesize/engineer a DIY way to add power folding mirrors to our cars.
I see many aftermarket kits for wiring, relays, and switches, but nothing on adding the motor and gears to the actual mirror unit (ie. actual mirror hardware). The website linked previously (www.lexussignals.com) has two interesting products for the SC430 and is still active on Yahoo Marketplace but none of the contact methods are functional. So I don't think that is an option. Additionally, I know that Euro and JDM SC430 have the power folding option standard. So worst case scenario, I'd have to purchase either an ECC or JDM mirror and possibly add a standalone switch and wiring harness, right? In this case the EEC/JDM mirror should be bolt-on. I would just have to hopefully transfer my LED "guts" to the new mirror. Anyone have any connections to get Euro or Japanese specific parts? Additionally since I used alarm system wire (4 wires in a single jacket) for the puddle light, with a pair of wires unused, I shouldn't have to run additional wire. Although it would be quite fortuitous if the American SC430 already had the folding ecu and circuits in the OEM harness (ie. only switch and mirror hardware is absent). In any case, I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and hopefully finding a solution to making this idea a reality.

The LS430 has folding mirrors. I wonder if they can be adapted to work with the SC430?

The 02 - 05 LS430s had folding mirrors, but to your point bacardi, I don't know what the fit is or if it could be adapted to use the SC430 mount.

I am under the impression that the 2010 SC430 had power folding mirrors, puddle lights, and the turn signal markets in the mirror. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If this is true, I wonder if anyone could first compared the wiring schematic of the 2002 SC430 to the 2010 (or whichever year had the folding mirror; or even the JDM) SC430 schematic in terms of the harness that runs to both mirrors, respectively. Additionally, then compare those to the 02-05 LS430. I would greatly appreciate it, as this info would give me a start on the plan of attack. Then I can start looking at adapting either one of those models' "motored mirror housing" or "triangle" to fit onto the SC430 door mount. Since I've completely dismantled my mirror in the past, I should be able to tell if I can build a interchange unit from mixing the combination of parts. Any help is appreciated.

Take a look at these guys. They sound very knowledgable about side mirrors and maybe able to help you (Who knew you could be a side mirror expert?)

Too bad Talwang and some of the other former members don't still check in, as I remember, he and others had a Japanese link. Then again, you never know what will show up on ebay or Alibaba.

I guess that no one has successfully swap a JDM/Euro folding mirror onto a US SC430?

I've contacted the company listed above. They are not very helpful and REFUSE to give me a photo of their product from the front (mirror side), much less any other photos, or even to explain any features (or if it is a stand alone attached mirror or just a cover that glues over OEM mirror). They requested I send a photo of my mirror and they will tell me if they have anything. I clearly explained that I have experience in disassembly/reassembly, and would be willing to adapt/engineer their product with my own OEM mirror to create a hybrid solution if they could provide a photo with details. Nope. Not gonna happen. I feel like the believe they have some top secret mirror or something. Geez.. and completely rude too. I submitted my photo but haven't heard back from them. I might just purchase them, unpainted. Once I receive them, if they do not seem to be applicable, I will return them under their return policy. Seems like a waste of time, but with such a difficult seller, not many other options. Def won't get 5 stars in any case from me.
