Question Vinyl Car-wrap...

Does anyone know of someone that has done one to an SC430? Like a matte or satin black, or maybe even storm-trooper white?

Hi PLAYTMN

Not sure if it will help you, but my son-in-law has had his BMW 3 series wrapped in satin black.
Might give you an idea how an SC would look.

Best regards
Steve

Personally I think that looks so stealth! I bet an SC430 would look really nice that way too! Do you know what they charged him for the job?

Hi PLAYTYM

As this is the UK, probably no relevance to what it would cost over there, but around $2,800.
This was the full job including the door shuts etc.
I have just had one of my company vehicles wrapped with an advertising wrap which didn't include the door shuts etc and that was around $2,300. This was blue before the wrap.

Best regards
Steve

^.... I gotta say matte black don't not look good on the SC430 base on the above photo.......... doesn't look sharp or luxury, maybe because of the head light & chrome grill

Yeah...my wife and I looked at the photos last night and we both loved the "stealth" look of the BMW now that looks sharp!

However, when looking at the SC430 in Satin Black...we both looked at each other and said not for us.

Thinking now...maybe just having the center of the roof wrapped in Satin Black and leaving the rest of the car the way she is!

Thanks everyone for helping me with this decision.

How about a carbon fiber looking material. I wanted to do that to a GTI that I had in 06 but they didn'y have anything wide enough back then. So I just did it in gloss black.

Actually Carbon Fiber might look nice on the roof as well. Thanks!

You could post up a couple of pics of your car in the photoshop forum to see if somebody could give you a visual of how that would look

I'm not a fan of the matte wrap look. Personally, I think it looks like oxidized paint.

IIRC, there is someone on the forum who had sponsers for his car and wrapped some styling type details on it (mainly the hood?). I don't remember enough about the thread to tell you how to do a search for it though. Maybe one of the other members will remember the post and can find the link.

How difficult is it to DIY the roof wrap? I found some nice carbon fiber vinyl film on amazon.com cheap and now thinking about doing it myself.

I think carbon fiber wrap roof on black cars looks good.
