Default Looking for advice on Header / Exhaust setup.

I have ordered the headers already for my 2002 SC430... waiting for shipping.

I am looking at these on eBay:

Stainless Steel Resonator Testpipe Toyota Lexus SC430 02 - 10 2010 Megan

So here is my option:

- I might want to get them and run with one cat (which I think would be enough to pass safty).
- use o2 Simulators to bypass CEL

Option 2:

- Keep the two cats and run this instead:

Megan Racing Exhaust Down Pipe 01-05 Lexus SC430 V8 4.3L

Any advice? I plan to keep the exhaust stock, I do not see any huge performance values in changing them.

I've done both, now have a full Megan exhaust from the the headers back. The Megan O2 extenders work GREAT. The installer checked my OBDII codes on those sensors and said the reading was perfect! No problems passing inspection, if all they do is check the codes as they do here in Texas on newer cars such as ours. Not sure this would work in California though....

Adding the test pipes made a big performance difference, and the exhaust note got only a little louder. Not obnoxious. I'm very happy with my all Megan setup.

Coil overs are next.... Thinking about the PPE headers, but install is as much as the headers.

So you have no cats at all, how do you pass emission test?

My car is a 2008. I have a buddy that does TX inspections that told me all they do on newer cars like mine is hook up an OBDII reader to the car and look at the levels on the O2 sensors. If they are within the "acceptable" range, the car passes. My installer checked my O2 reading and said it is "perfect". And the installer of the O2 sensor extenders was suspicious they would work and real surprised they worked so well. I've not seen any "check engine" lights either.

I think the first option is out because O2 simulators aren't available for our car. So that leaves Option 2 for my vote. My personal option 3: I would delete the third cat and run a pipe from each of the remaining cats directly to the resonators...the third cat is the bottleneck.
