Default Antenna Removal

Hey everyone I'm new and recently bought a 2002 sc430 with 50k miles. The ride is amazing. I want to know if it is possible to removal the antenna all together but still keep the radio working?

Hi 802lexus, and welcome!

Yes, it is possible to delete the electric antenna (probably my next mod too)... To acomplish that, you will need an electronic antenna similar to this...

Hope this helps!

If you ever decide on going for this DIY, please take pics and post. Good luck. A lot of us here want to dump the telescoping antenna.

Instructions say the Metra antenna can't be mounted behind metal, so where to mount it seems to be the issue.

You can simply mount it in the top of the windshield... Inside the car... Or rear package tray if you prefer...

I hope someone figures this out! The antenna dates our cars bad.

It's fairly easy to re-route the antenna wire to go inside of the car. the wire goes through a hole behind the back of the passenger side seat. ive tried a hidden antenna before, which i put inside of the rear headrest and reception wasnt good. i never tried the metra but it looks like it would fit between the rear seat headrests. id give it a try but i spent too much money testing other antennas without success lol
