Default Wheel lug nut socket size?

Can someone tell me the socket size for the stock wheel lug nut?

I tried the 13/16 inch socket but it is just an hair too small. I suspect the correct socket is metric. 13/16 inch is a little less than 21mm so the correct socket could be 21 or 22mm.

Searched around the correct size is indeed 13/16 inch. Guess my lug nuts are deformed a little after many on/off cycles.

M21 is the correct socket size. 13/16 socket will fit the standard nuts. However the mcgard lock nut socket will not fit the 13/16 socket.

2019 RX 350. Socket size is not defined in the user manual.

Thumbs up

Use the 21mm. If you don't have one, get one. It's that simple. Right tools for the right job.

19 mm is too small for my 2002. I don't have a 21 mm to check though.

If 19mm fits, your lug nuts are not OEM. I just went out and tried my 19mm socket and it is not even close. The correct size, as has been said by a number of people in this thread, is 21mm. 13/16 will work.

I was ready to purchase an additional 13/16 socket and breaker bar or torque wrench. Didn’t want to breakup a set. Then I decided to double check the Mcguard lock nut tool. It does not fit the 13/16.

I included the year and model of my analysis considering the possibility that other models may be different.

If your model is different, be sure to check your lock nut too.

I had to invest in a 21 mm socket solely for this purpose. Luckily HarborF had a set for cheap. You need a deep socket.

I checked both of my SC430s and they are both 21mm...13/16 is a better fit but it doesn’t matter using a six point socket.

That is correct my wheels and lug nuts are not OEM. They are ANDROS Spec K Machined with Matt Graphite Accent.

quick question. The "mobile mechanic" who redid my brakes apparently broke or replaced one of my lug nuts with one that doesn't appear to have a head, i.e. it looks hollow
where I can see the shaft in its middle. I don't like that it doesn't match my other lug nuts so I am wondering, is it alright for me to simply remove just one of the lug nuts on
my wheels in order to "fit" some others that I might have around to replace just this one? Will this cause any damage to the shaft or the wheel so long as I don't go driving
around without just the one lug nut temporarily missing?

I'm not sure I understand your question 100%, but other then for emergency situations, I would not drive with a missing lug nut for long. My biggest concern would be harm to the rotor.

To clarify. I don't want to actually drive the car without one of the lug nuts. I would like to simply remove one of the nuts, the one that appears to have been broken, and after its been removed then I will try and "fit" a lug nut from my wife's Hyundai to see if its a good replacement. Supposedly its the same size, 12mm by 1.5, based on a chart that was able to find.
Then, I will ether leave the lug nut from the Hyundai if it fits and looks the same, or I will then try to find another one that fits and looks like all the others on my wheels, not including
the wheel locks. Thanks.
