You could take the door off the track and just leave it in the open position. Sounds a little stupid in just writing it, but might just appeal to someone out there.

Nah, I don't want to do that. What make me wonder is why Lexus engineers did that. Why didn't they just simply designed with one button close and open on demand, It's could save wear and tear on the plastic gears.
Could it be they tried to protect the Nav screen from sunray?
