Smile Fitted luggage?

While, my car is on order (blue/ecru). I need to pack the maximum when I travel, but the trunk is rather oddly shaped. Anyone know of fitted luggage for this car?

What about luggage racks?

This was an earlier post concerning sc430 luggage, but I think you'd have to order from Europe, I don't quite remember. There are some pics of the luggage as well in the thread.

Screw the fitted luggage. Use a nylon duffle bag. It holds more and you can squash it in to fit.

Fancy luggage is for sissys.

The English lexus organization has/had some soft duffle bag leather luggage with SC430 tooled into it (3 different pieces). Tan leather.

I see that the Euro-lexus web site has a magazine that features an Italian firm that makes "fitted" leather, hardsided luggage, for the SC 430. Should be available from the Euro-Lexus accessories department.

I have designed a set of fitted luggage to be contructed like a trunk with aluminum corners and edges and birdseye maple sides. One of the pieces would lay under the roof area "opened" up. You would fold it closed to carry it.

Forgot to confirm that there is an earlier thread on fitted luggage with pictures of the English luggage. Also thought I might illustrate the "trunk" type luggage that anyone can have custom made to fit the space .....

You gotta be kidding ! What's supposed to fit in those things, a pair of socks ?

Stick with the nylon duffle. I have a small one with "ReBock" on the sides........works for me.

Hey Ed and CEboyd, help me out here !!

LMAO, bahahahahahahahaahaha I do agree use a damn duffle bag. I have a nice addidas, one holds lots of stuff and can even be squeezed in there with the roof up.

I hope that picture wasnt taken specifically for this thread, but damn that was funny

LexusSC430 ...

I ain't been that skinny since I was 15!

Did a Google Image search on "wrinkle" and found this image which I cropped to get rid of the ugly head and edited to get rid of the logo that was on the T-Shirt.

It would have been easier to take the pic, but I've never owned anything THAT wrinkled!!

Default Soft Luggage works great

In my experience, having taken several trips in this car, and having to pack luggage for two, I find that the suggestions above are correct. Soft luggage, including canvas or duffle bags, work very well.

Also, with the top up, there is a surprizing amount of space available at the rear of the trunk (right behind the back seat). That area of the trunk is very high, and you can stack up several items in that area. This only became obvious to me when I put two folded beach chairs in there, and then started to load some bags and big beach towels on top of them. Unfolded garmet bags can go on the top of the stack.

You can usually get one medium sized hard piece of luggage in the trunk toward the rear of the car, but after that, you will find that soft luggage and smaller pieces are the only real way to use up the space effeciently.

And then, of course, there's the "back seat."

Leave the dog at home and enjoy your trip.

The most efficient way to fill the trunk is not to use luggage at all .... just think of the trunk as one big hard sided bag. I little hard to pull up to the grand hotel and hand over your luggage...

Hey, paper bags work to but some see the elegance of a fine set of "fitted" leather bags.

Larry

The luggage would be used to impress the doorman only if you also drive the SC430 to impress doormen and underage chicks. You brought up impressing doormen, do you have a problem with doormen? I simply stated that it was effecient to pack the trunk with loose items, but hard to get the items to your room after checking in at a hotel/motel.

I suspect your hostility is caused by your underlying feeling that the SC430 is a pretentious, sissy car designed for old men or women..... and you are sensitive to the sissy or age issues. No amount of effort with fancy wheels, body kits, lowering, or other customization (think teens in Honda Civics) will qualify the car as suitable for smarmy punks. Hope your duffle bag with "addidas" on the side gives you some comfort.

If you see the qualities in the 430 then I suspect you should see the qualities in good luggage, or most anything in life that is properly designed and constructed.

Perhaps this forum is most heavily populated by rich kids, but Lexus thinks the market for the SC430 is more mature owners who appreciate fine things, including luggage. That's why they offer luggage and other designer options. That's why they throw a leather bag into their special series SUV. And you know what? Lexus is right, most of the cars are bought by old men either for themselves or for their old ladies.

Don't worry Larry, you have established that your not a sissy even if you drive an old man's car ..... you pack a duffle bag, one with a sport shoe manufacturer's logo on it no less.

Well first off.... Its MY adidas, I happen to love that bag. I have filled the trunk with as much as possible. I can also understand wanting fine luggage, but I believe the car speaks volumes about it. I have climbed out of the car in my outrageous bathing suit. I dont much care, but saying people dont buy Lexus to impress people or feel good about themselves is a bunch of BS. If you are saying that doormen are too low to need impressing, I could really care less.

As for the underage chicks, if you are 40 and soingle and dont like the way underage chicks look there is something wrong with you, and by the way it impresses chicks of all ages for the record.

Finally, lighten up....Larry is just kidding around, and old men buy them because they are the ones who can afford them....I guess im just some rich spolied kid though so oh well. The Lexus is hot it gets awesome compliments from all the youngins....more so than my Supra ever did, if you can imagine.
