Default interior trunk release and vert button

Does anyone know if there is a fuse/switch related to both the interior trunk release and the button that controls the top? Both have gone out on my '05 SC and the same time. Checked fuses, can't find an issue there.
Thanks!

Sounds like you need to check the trunk lock out or valet button. You'll find it by opening the glove box, looking at the inside frame, left side. Not the right side, that button is for a second set of tire and the TPMS system. By locking the glove box you can prevent a valet from going into your trunk if the valet button is pressed. Neither method for opening the trunk works.

VVTiBob, you really are amazing.

I was at my Lexus dealership for routine maintenance this morning. Tonight, top doesn't work and trunk won't operate. I was thinking fuse, but did a search in the forum and arrived on this thread. Problem solved.

Now why the Lexus mechanic was in my glove compartment and why he decided to press the lockout button is a question that I have absolutely no answer for. I can't think of a legitimate reason for him to be in there.

Silly JohnnyCakes, he was clearly rummaging through your car to steal stuff. Good ol' dealership.

Perhaps the culprit was looking for a second trip to the stealership from you.

I love my car having said that. I hate the dealer. I have never been treated so badly at my dealer in service dept. I find them arrogant and full of mis information. In fact I know more about my car and its function then they do. When ever I have to go to the dealer. I stand at the service window and watch every move they make. Rant over
