Default Blitz drop-in air filter

Anyone used this filter? Any noticeable difference in sound and performance from oem?

Don’t expect any noticeable improvement in performance with any air filter or you’ll be very disappointed. I (like many in CL) installed an Injen system and the sound is really something else. BIG IMPROVEMENT in the sound!!!

I was looking into the injen but figured it would suck in hot engine bay air and decrease performance, plus I am not sure it is legal in CA for the smog test.

In my case, I didn't notice any decrease in performance ether in hot weather... I did this mod only for the sound !

About the smog test, maybe some other CA members can comment...

I am sure the sound is amazing, but I am also wary of any oiled air filter. I have used k&n air filter before and was less than impressed.

I had the blitz drop in filter for my 2GS...I sold it soon after...it didn't do much for low end rpm.

The injen won't cause any problems with a smog test. If there is a decrease in performance, it's very negligible. If all you want is sound improvement, injen or weapon r would be your best bet.

Take a look on YouTube, I posted a before and after video with the Injen

Agree! I had my car smog'd when I had the Injen intake and it passed it. If you look at the disclaimer on the intake, it reads "C.A.R.B. certified." <---Not sure if that has anything to do with smog test but it does sound legit. Haha!

Injen is the best option for the GROWL that we are all dreaming of.
