Hi folks,

I just noticed last night it appears the sub in my 2002 SC is flopping around, giving every indication the rubber/neoprene surrounds have given up the ghost.

I've been generally pleased with the overall sound of the system, so I'm not so eager to upgrade the system - just looking for a replacement without breaking the bank.

To those of you who HAVE upgraded your systems, do you have your original (yet preserved) sub you would like to sell?

EDIT: Also, is this sub common to other Lexus models? Can I be looking elsewhere besides the SC forums?

Get an OEM replacement or else repair it. There are DIY's around here, save time, get a sub OEM part from Sewell.

I dropped mine off at a professional reconing shop here in Houston. He replaced the entire cone, foam, etc. I was reluctant at first thinking it wouldn't be as good as a new one, but it works great, probably better than new. If I remember correctly, it was like $60, cheaper than new.

There is a lit for $25 shipped, will do 2 speakers. Really easy DIY. It has been posted on one of the speaker repair threads.
