Angry tire sensors

ok so i replaced the wheels with new 18x8 wheels, using the stock run-flat tire. however, the techs told me the sensors wouldnt fit into my new tire... no problem, but that damn light irks me. sure the electrical tape could work, but there is an audible alert beep every 2 minutes as well :P.... im sure that it comes down to some wire going from the engine through the firewall to the dash, or some sort of wire that could just be snipped... please anyone that has any info post back.

REGARDING THE BEEP: DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!! UNDER THE DASH BOARD NEAR THE STEERING COLUMN THERE IS A TWO PRONG BLACK CONNECTOR WITH A PURPLE WIRE AND A RED WIRE JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE COLUMN. SIMPLY DISCONNECT AND NO MORE BEEP. IT ONLY AFFECTS THE BEEPING SENSOR FOR THE RUN FLAT. TADA. LEX LUGAR

you can strap the tire sensors to you wheel before you mount your tires.. then balance them.. works fine.

Default huh?

did you do this? I didn't think this was feasible because my understanding is that the run flat sensors are part of the valve stem unit?????

Sensors transmit just fine strapped to the wheel.. no warning Lights or beeps..And yes it is part of the valve stem. but when you change wheels. they can take them off in one piece and use them..

i replaced my wheels with 20" Lowenharts and the Lowenharts dont have the stock sensors inside. The funny thing is, my tire pressure light on the dash is on, but no beeping. Anyone know why???

That's exactly how mine is now. After I changed to non-sensor compatible wheels, I had the lights and the beeping. I took the car down to the dealer for a reset (it shouldn't beep if you don't have the sensors on... what if you had just put on snow tires?) the light stayed on, but the beeping stopped. I'm living with it that way. As simple as the black tape solution in FAQ sounds, I don't want to take a flathead screwdriver to my dash.
