Default BBK or Bodykit First ?

Hi all,

I can't seem to decide what I should do first. I already got my 20 inch wheels with open spoke and coilovers (tucked) but I have enough funds for either a full bodykit or BBK for the time being. I am planning to go with Endless BBK but unfortunately I am not gifted with tons of money that I can swim in it.

So what would you guys do either a full bodykit or BBK. I don't want to disclose what bodykit I am getting as I want to post pics of my completed car

I read on here people commenting having 'open' wheel design especially in 20's really enhances the need for BBK because of how dinky stock rotors/calipers look. This is so true to me now everytime I look at my car.

Yet other people told me get the full bodykit now and put the BBK next because overall a bodykit will enhance the look of the car more so than BBK.

What would you do ? Full body kit or BBK ?

This is killing me !!

If it was me I would do the full body kit first. The body kit is more of a transformation to the car that gives it that WOW factor.

You going for looks or power?

If looks = kit
power = bbk.

the body kit will make the car look sharp.
bbk is really not needed for our cars, waste of money.

I agree...get some drilled/slotted roters and caliper covers and it will look great and save you a ton of money!

+1...If you definitely want BBK, I would do that first. Then all other performance mods. I like to upgrade the mechanics first (exhaust, intake, rotors, (headers and cats soon), then I do the 'looks'. I don't like it when I see cars with have a lot of appearance mods, and no performance upgrades.

Get the kit...and go for a cheaper brake upgrade like the LS 400 or TT if it really bothers you and you need both. You can always switch them out later.

Bbk for safety! Although a body kit would tremendously change the car

Thanks guys for the comments. This is the best Lexus forum on the net !

For me, I already have

1) 20 inch wheels staggered. 9.5 front / 11.0 rear
2) Blitz Exhaust.
3) Roof spoiler/aftermarket trunk spoiler.

The kit which I already have a hold on is a full replacement kit including fender flares. Got a really great deal on it but I want to reveal it when its done.

or

I have a person that can get me Endless brakes at a slight discount but not great.

(A) I am more geared towards 'looks' because to get true performance mods you need FI *IMO*. Intake/exhaust/headers will give you slight increases but in reality the sound it creates I would assume is the MAIN reason people buy them rather than shaving down their 0-60 or 1/4 mile time.

(B) I would agree getting a BBK is a waste in terms of performance WITHOUT having FI. It sure does make the brake FEEL better/responsive but our stock brakes are one of the best stock brakes out there. I believe 95% of people who get BBK gets it for looks because it does enhance the look of the car/wheel/side view. Though ever since I read that post by someone here saying have open design 20 inch wheels really emphasizes the dinky stock brakes it is on my mind.

I could get drilled stock size rotors to make it look slightly better but if eventually down the road i do get BBK, i wasted even more money
Also no offense intended but personally I am not a fan of brake covers going over stock calipers. I would rather wait and save for the real deal but looking at the 'emptiness' inside the 20's is killing me.

Believe me its my wife who I am afraid of. We set aside 'play money' and I am getting close to going over the limit !

Damn I am really undecided. I have to brainstorm now.

What about painting your calipers and Lexus decals? You could do that cheap, then get the body kit. I'm trying to give you as many options as possible so your head explodes haha
