True or False
Ok, I haven't had a chance to thank everyone for their input on my last post - but I'm still at work so give a guy a break! Anyway, so car starts and no error lights, VSC and VSC off lights go on as soon as I start driving. Go to autozone and no codes detected. Call Lexus dealer local and some blonde gives me some answer which is useless so talk to more helpful person back in MI who says the mechanics say in an older vehicel (2002) its most likely the TPMS sensor that needs to be replaced. What say you guys? Do I buy one or two from sewell?
I'm not sure that VSC light on/off and TPMS light are related, but look at VVTiBob's alternative to OEM replacements in thread #20. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...process-2.html
I too never heard that the two are related somehow and the pressure light doesn't go off. I am reluctant to pay money for something I don't need so I was hoping to solicit answers. The link doesn't help much but thanks.
Wow, the club saved me again! Fixed! How awesome is that?! I even made an appointment to tie up my morning at a local Toyota dealership. Nothing like saving money and time!
BTW your lexus has 4 unique OEM TPMS sensors. There are two ways to tell which one, if any have dead a dead battery. One...go to the dealer so they can hook up their scantool and see which one is not responding. And B ...go to a dealer who sells the generic and programmable sensors and have them check for a signal at each tire.
If you were to order a new OEM sensor you'd need to remove the tire from the wheel to order the correctly color coded one.
And if it was a dead battery in the sensor, if one has died, it may not be long until they all die. Battery life is subject to many environmental factors, one being cold temperatures.
