Default Invisible bra installed

Yesterday I had an invisible bra installed. Covers the hood (about 4" above the headlights), bumper, headlights, fenders, and mirrors. Very happy with it. My SC is an 02 with 32k miles on it and is always garage kept. I had 2 small chips and used Dr Colorchip on them before having the bra installed. Funny thing they assumed the SC was new and used an 09 bra, which fit fine. They also replaced the tint on my side windows. Tint started to peel on drivers window (being 8 years old). Cant open windows for two days and its 80 today! Guess I got to wait-no sympathy, huh.

clear bras are a great investment .. pays in the long run having to repaint or use a chip repair kit

Looks great! I agree with adesai8. I had an invisible bra installed on my SC a few months ago. I also had some film added to protect the headlights & the area surrounding the windshield as well.

AZKaty did you install it, or did you have someone else install it? I'd ask if Bob had installed it, but he's probably too busy playing with his other "toy". lol

Eddy:

I have a great Lexus body shop that does this for me at their cost.. we did all three SC's and Bobs vette, also his Genesis Coupe.

Great job!

My invisible bra is Llumar. Thats the stuff that was at sema 2 years ago as state of the art for being clearer and thicker than others. Installers werent happy with it because thickness makes installation tougher. My installer swears by it. Price was $450. My tint is 15%. Also, Dealer has replaced my 3rd speaker and has already replaced subwoofer. Nice having a zero deductable warrantee.

I've been meaning to do this forever. Gotta repaint the front bumper and get rid of a few chips first. Then was gonna get my car detailed before putting it on. Being in Vancouver I should probably wait till summer before doing all this though..
My question is, is there any specific order to doing a paint/detail/clear-bra? Do I have to wait any amount of time after paint before I detail the car? Or install a clear-bra?

Yes, the installation of the clear-bra or waxing needs to wait 30 days or so after painting to allow the paint to finish curing / out-gassing. Some of the clear-bras are air permeable enough (they claim) to allow the installation sooner though.
