Yep!...learned that lesson quick with my first SC. It doesn't seem like it would scrape, but a little trick is don't go so heavy on the brakes when pulling in because the nose tends to dip down a little when you do that causing it to get even lower. You can actually clear most parking bumps if you take it slow and ease in rather than firm brakes.
You don't have to pull up all the way until your tires hit the block, you are allowed to stop short. Park about 2 feet short as the car next to you so your head is at the distance of their rear doors, or in a diagonal space, you are at their rear tires.
Agre with Thelopez. scraped my first SC..repaint. Now I pull up, get out ,look then I leave room. One big repaint bill is enough. I also scraped my wheel on a curb when pulling out. So its all about being overly cautious.

lesson learned, early on.
luckily my blk/blk didn't show the scuffs.
now, I always look down at the parking block when either pulling in or backing in.
our 430s aren't very long, so we don't need to pull in all the way.
KBALL-I read your other post about just getting some of the Zaino products, but you may be able to get down on the ground and try to manually buff out some of the scratches with Scratch-X from Meguires or try buffing out. I've used the deep cleaner wax that is designed to remove deeper scratches with Meguires and a rotary buffer (if you can get it down there) to remove them before. Sorry to hear.
Katy-do you leave your MJ Pumpin' loud with the top down in Eboni when you get out? LOL I can just picture that scene! Tell Bob we miss him!!!
"Stop Short" That reminds me of one of my FAVORITE Seinfeld episodes where Kramer "stopped short" with a girl in the car and Mr. Costanza got mad because he thought he invented that move!!! LOL that one was a classic!!!

Thanks for tip...and no bigger fan of seinfeld than me. If you haven't discovered Curb Your enthusiasm by Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, its also absolutely fantastic.
Also park far so others don't park next to you and ding your car. On one of our first drives, my wife said, are you sure you want to park here, there are a lot of spaces over there. This was the first time I ever heard something like that from her and I have never commented about about parking in the past. I think there is something special about this car that brings out the best in people.

I experienced the same thing with my wife. Normally she'd be looking for the absolute closest parking space to the door but once we started driving the SC430, that seemed to change, at least with the SC430, not the Camry or pickup.
What I've observed is also interesting, I can park any where in the parking lot (close or far) with no cars any where near the space. About 80% of the time when I return to the car, there will be one or two cars parked next to it. Go figure.

That's seems much more like what we experience with our cars. You practice avoidance by taking the furthest possible parking space and when you return there is some total rust-bucket parked ominously close to your pride and joy.
The only advantage I have only ever found to being handicapped is the parking. Thanks to the loading zone, I seldom have to have anyone close enough to do damage. That includes my handicapped space at work that is 20 feet from my door. Of course, I'd rather not had to have had both knees and 1 hip replaced, 2 back surgeries, and heart surgery. All (except last item) brought on by a car accident that happened 40 years ago-and no I wasn't the driver. Actually, There is another advantage-College paid for because I was considered disabled. Sorry if that is TMI, but I do enjoy the parking and am not one that is using a fraudulent placard that seems prevalent in Calif. Sorry if I hijacked the thread.

Sounds like you have more than paid for the preferential parking and education. I hope you continue to enjoy any and all benefits (as well as the car, of course.)
