Congratulation on your purchase and welcome to the forum.

The only way to correctly fix this is to replace/upgrade the Luggage Compartment ECU. The voltage level for the LEDs is different than incandescent bulbs so the car believe there is a bulb out. That lights up the indicator on the dash. A new ECU is a few hundred bucks. At that cost some are willing to put up with the MIL indicator. Others have applied black tape. As a CL member you can order parts from http://www.sewellpartsonline.com and receive a CL member discount.

Here is the direct link http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2005-1903.html. They call it the "car computer". You may have to call them or another vendor to order just that part.

Welcome and Congrates on your new ride. Sorry I can't help with your light problem, but if there is someone out there that can help, they are a member, and you should be hearing from them.

Welcome to CL! Congrats on the new ride! Post some pics with those new tails. Bob is correct, you need the luggage ECU to make the light turn off.

I didn't get it for three reasons when I updated my 05 with the 06+ lights.

1) Cost...$600 for the ECU was ridiculous!
2) Install looked a lot more complicated than I cared to get into
3) The amber bulb out indicator light doesn't bother me...at least it's not blinking or red or annoying. I consider it a feature of the car, like the green light that comes on when the lights are on...only this amber light lets you know you've successfully completed the 2006+ rear tailight conversion!

LOL! This is exactly the same way I felt when I upgraded my 2005 SRT-6 Crossfire (SLK32 AMG based car I mentioned in the other thread you replied to) to Xenon headlamps. There is a steady amber "light bulb" icon in the dash now when I turn on my headlights because the voltages are mis-matched. But it just reminded me of some of my other vehicles that have actually had "headlamps on" indicators and I just left it alone.
