Smile My First Lexus!

Hey everyone, I just got a 2003 sc430 with 36k miles. Just wanted to introduce myself. Let me know what you think.

Which rims do you like better?
Thanks! Look forward to hearing from all of you!

Hi Mark,

Remember, this is just my opinion.

I prefer a brighter rim on a darker car.

With the open wheel design, I'd get some caliper covers, I have red ones, on my silver SC. Or in not that get them powder coated. I also prefer the bright work look. But then again, I have chromed tourmalines on my SC.

Hello Mark and welcome!!! Congrats on your new beauty! The indigo is a great color and looks classy with the saddle interior! I'm all about the bling, so I'd prefer a chrome set on your car but I'm not personally crazy about the spokes on the second set. I wish the first set was in chrome! I agree with JerryB...IMO dark cars look better with chrome.

I'm sure you'll get lots of great opinions, but ultimately it is up to you. There are a ton of used wheels in our classifieds and my personal favorite is on eBay.

What size are the wheels?

Many SC'ers upgrade to a 20" staggered set up, which is most popular. Something like a 20x8.5 in the front and 20x9.5 in the rear really sets off the looks of your car! Do some searches on here you will see LOADS of information! Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Hi Mark,

Me again .

My '02 SC430, purchased in Nov '09 with 24K miles, is my first Lexus also.

But now I am somewhat in the market for another one to sit along side of the SC; a RX330/350 or maybe a IS250.

Yeah, those chromes did look good. Thats what came on the sc when I bought it but two of those rims were slightly bent and gave it a funky ride. Thats why I got the illusions, pics do not do them justice, they change crazy shaded of blue in the sun! And they are about 50 pounds total lighter-much better ride...
Thanks for all your opinoins!

Default One more vote for the chrome

First impressions count, and my first impression was how much better the chrome looked.

But it's your car and your choice!

Welcome to CL, Mark.

Yeah, not even close. Chromes all the way, IMO.

Welcome and Congrats on your new ride. Wish you many years of trouble free riding. I too prefer the lighter color wheels, but if you have both sets, you can change back and forth anytime you want a different look. Lucky you!
