Default Nav -reset

nayone know how to reset the nav drive/brain. tried disconnecting battery for couple of hours to no effect. was in the service menu and accidently hit the US-TAB button. now comes up half engish half japanese asking for the correct disk. have tried inserting both and old and new DVD both OEM. no luck. hoping there is a jumper etc like on a pc motherboard to clear the bios.

cant get in diagnostic mode. doesn't even complain when no DVD in drive. opened up unit. single board not the dual board that has a reset button. have seen some posts that indicate if you go to a higher rev DVD it will reload. that leaves me with 9.1 which is awful pricey.
