Default Timing Belt

So I'm pretty overdue with my timing belt maintenance and I'm starting to get a bit worried..
I got a quote from the stealership for $795 just for the timing belt.. but with the recommended water pump and other belt changes, the bill comes to about $1800...
That's a little bit more than I want to spend so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get this done for cheaper in So. Cal. and how much would it cost?

Check with various Toyota dealerships instead of Lexus dealerships. Toyota is still high, but not as high as Lexus. $1,800 is outrageous, so don't pay that.

Also, look online or in the phone book for repair places that specialize in working on nothing but Lexus and Toyota vehicles. They will be your best bet as far as price, but it's a bit more risky than going to a Lexus/Toyota house (unless you are familiar with their work).

Thats around the price but please shop around and def ask toyota and other Lexus dealerships and if you have a good Lex place you've been going to a lot talk to them and say you're a loyal customer blah blah and to match prices with elsewhere...its DEF worth a shot...$1800 is quite a bit for that service I'd expect around $1200 or so...

Wessep please PM me or post pics of your car and rims please because I'm really considering those exact rims...I'd greatly appreciate it!

The problem with going to Toyota dealers in So Cal is that most of the dealers have a Lexus shop nearby, and if so, Toyota can't touch a Lexus car

I wouldn't pay anymore than $1200. You should do all the services though. My # 1 recommendation would be a Toyo dealer. SURELY not all dealers are by a Lexus one?

Many times you can find a 10% off coupon posted on many lexus service specials web page. I looked at a couple in cali for ya, but I didn't see any currently.

I have been known to take a coupon from one dealer and use it at another and it works all the time!

I see these specials ALL THE TIME ran for Toyo dealers:

Also, Lexus of Manchester MO is offering this:

Do some google and yahoo searches. I will too...$1200 should EASILY get 'er done!

Try South Coast Auto Clinic in Costa Mesa. They are usually very fair and awesome people. Mention their 10% off coupon on the site and get up to $50 off.

Good Luck

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys! I'll definitely check out a Toyota dealership and see what the costs are.

I'd say check the phone book for shops that specialize in Toyta/Lexus. We have a Toy Doctor here also and there price is way cheaper than dealership & they do good work.

I know the dealership in Orlando Florida runs a monthly special for timing belt and water pump for like 995. Really good deal. Check with the online specials to see if dealerships near you have a similiar deal
